As part of their pioneering multi-media retail project, Nokia commissioned THS to direct a series of short films for display across the array of high definition in store displays in their flagship stores around the world. The films explore themes focused around the brands ethos ‘Connecting People’ through immersive video and sound.
The project was then extended to Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 where the work is viewed on giant LED screens which dominate the main concourse.
Windows:
This short explores the themes of ‘spontaneous interaction’ and ‘the little moments that make up every day life’.
In this piece each of the screens within the store becomes a window: Behind
the glass a series of intimate actions, gestures and emotions are played out
by various participants. We see how people can instinctively react or behave when placed behind a piece
of glass.
Mural:
Mural expresses the themes of
‘finding your own community’ and ‘spontaneous interaction’. A group of
15 people – both adults and children work together to create a giant mural across a 60 foot wall. This seemingly
random composition of coloured dots
is then transformed into a animated underwater seascape.
